wasting time looking through other photographer's online travel photography portfolio and at the same time looking for inspiration to document my trip to hanoi.

found some REALLY awesome portfolios that would put my shots to shame anytime.

it's 8:11 PM now

back from hanoi and it wasn't very pretty. didn't enjoy the city very much but the 'outsides' were the best parts of the trip. for those thinking of heading there, halong bay is a MUST visit. just skip cat cat island and stick to the 2-day tour, that'd be good enough. another MUST is the night train to lao cai (the train's just for the experience) and a trek at sapa. wanted to go for the 5-day one which covers the tallest peak in vietnam but we just didn't have the time.

shall plan for a backpacking trip through cambodia, laos, vietnam, china and finishing off at nepal. who would like to sponsor me?

at work now and i've realised there just ain't enough time left in the year to cover what i want to do! retreat in the next three days, tai's 'farewell' party right after that, countdown party the following day. and somewhere in-between, i've got to tidy my room, clean my room finish up the scrapbook on the trip, train for napfa, clear debts, buy lens and flash and of course, leaving time for the girl and myself.

what's worse? i'm broke. quite. shall sit down tonight and decide on which lens to get and sort my priorities. there goes my sleep.

using the mac G5 and it's fantastic! viewed some photos online and the colour schemes displayed is awesome!

shall add it to my wishlist. WISH list, it'll prob never come true anyway-judging by the way i shop. LOL

oh! there's one more thing i NEED to complain about. people have been making comments about MDA being such a bitch about the movie ratings. and now i know what the fuss is all about. how the heck can the heartbreak kid be R21? how can saw IV possibly be R21 when the previous three sequels have been M18? there's many more but i can't think of them off the top of my head.

the bloddy heck, it must be the parents writing into the press and the MDA and complaining about the media that's being presented to their kids. COME ON! the world is changing and if you wanna stay in your 70s/80s lifestyle, go and crawl back under that fucking rock that you've been hiding under all along!

and to the MDA, you've got to do better than that.

i should change my picture on my blog but due to some irritating reason or another, i can't get it done. so i shall do it another day when my stomach isn't bugging me for food.


ate at miss clarity cafe last night. the place was nice and cosy and the food (some) was awesome! same old me, didn't read the menu properly and i got a shock when i got my food-it was black and it tasted like beans and dates. apparently, i had ordered black italian wild rice with garlic-fried prawns and atichoke chips. what the heck is that anyway?

i guess it's like cooked before it was harvested, therefore explaining wild rice. but black?!? this is one of the black stuff i don't like! haha, it tasted better when i ate it with the prawns and the chips..still don't know what the atichoke chips are. would go back but not to eat that thang.

leavin for hanoi this weekend. wooooohoo!

i've realised that most of my entries contain complaints. not that there's nothing to be happy about, but the complains seem to fit best in blogs and diaries because it's where you rant about when shit happens. maybe just this time, i'll count my blessings. but just where do i start?

-i'm thankful i have a home i can run back to and rest peacefully.
-i'm thankful i have a loving family.
-i'm thankful i have money *almost* everytime i open my wallet for a meal.
-i'm thankful i'm able to afford the luxuries in life most others can't afford.
-i'm thankful i'm healthy and able to play the sports i love.
-i'm thankful i have friends surrounding me no matter what.
-i'm thankful i have someone who loves me as much as i love her.

of course there's more but they all can't fit in here. i paid the ultimate price for unpreparedness - i failed my napfa but i'm not complaining. all i can say about that is that i'm proud i woke up at 630 in the morning. ;)
